Approving Providers
How to approve which CEU Events providers can request training sessions at your Locations — and why this controls the quality of events your Locations host.
🏢 This article is for Places.
As the CEU Events Places manager, you decide which providers can request training sessions at your Locations. Approving a provider gives that provider's instructors the green light to request events at any of your Locations — which means every event your Locations host comes from a provider you've explicitly authorized.
Before you begin
A few things worth knowing before you start approving providers:
- Only the Places account manager can approve providers. Location managers and other users cannot manage the approval list.
- The list is already pre-vetted. Providers only appear in your Course Providers list once they meet two requirements (see below), so every name you see has already been reviewed by CEU Events.
- New providers are added regularly. It's worth checking the list periodically rather than treating approval as a one-time task.
Who appears in the Course Providers list
A provider appears in your Course Providers list only when both of these are true:
- They are an active subscriber to CEU Events. Inactive or trial-status providers do not appear.
- Their courses have been reviewed and recognized by CEU Events. This is what guarantees that events hosted under their name carry credits accepted for state licenses and association membership renewals.
This two-layer filtering is why your Locations can confidently host any event from an approved provider — both the provider and their courses have already cleared CEU Events review.
How to approve a provider
- Sign in to www.ceuevents.com with your CEU Events Places account credentials.
- Click Course Providers.
- Click the checkbox next to each provider you want to approve.
Approved providers can now request events at any Location under your Places account.
💡 Tip: You can un-approve a provider at any time by clearing their checkbox. Existing scheduled events are not affected, but the provider will no longer be able to submit new event requests to your Locations.
What happens next
- Approved providers see your Locations in their event scheduling tools. When a provider's instructor goes to schedule a new event, your Locations now appear in their available list. See Schedule Events at Approved Places (Instructors).
- Only reviewed and recognized courses can be requested. Even within an approved provider's catalog, only courses that have cleared CEU Events review are available for request — so the credit-eligibility guarantee holds at the course level too.
- Your Location managers handle incoming requests. Once a provider submits a request, the relevant Location manager receives it and decides whether to accept the event. See Activating CEU Events Location Account and Managing Requests for Places Accounts.
Best practices
- Direct providers to submit requests through the platform. When a provider you've approved wants to schedule at one of your Locations, route the request through CEU Events — not off-platform email. This ensures the request reaches your Location manager, the event tracks correctly, and credits are reported automatically.
- Check the list periodically. New providers are added regularly, so revisit your Course Providers list every so often to make sure you're not missing providers whose offerings fit your audience.
- Let your Location managers know who's approved. When your Location managers know which providers to expect requests from, they can plan their calendars and venue logistics more proactively.
- Coordinate with providers you already have a relationship with off-platform. Letting an existing partner know you've approved them on CEU Events helps them start submitting requests sooner.
- Be deliberate about un-approving. Removing approval cuts off future requests from that provider — make sure that's the intent before clearing a checkbox.
Troubleshooting
- You don't see a provider you expected in the list. They may not yet be an active subscriber to CEU Events, or their courses may still be under review. Reach out to that provider directly and ask them to confirm their CEU Events subscription and course-review status.
- You don't see the Course Providers menu. Confirm you're signed in as the Places account manager. Location managers and other roles don't have access to provider approval.
- An approved provider isn't submitting any requests. Approval is necessary but not sufficient — the provider also needs to be aware they've been approved and have an instructor ready to schedule.
- A provider you previously approved is no longer in the list. They may have ended their CEU Events subscription. If you believe this is in error, contact CEU Events support.
- You want to un-approve a provider but they have existing scheduled events. Un-approving prevents new requests but doesn't cancel events already on the calendar. To cancel an existing event, work with your Location manager and the provider directly.
