Cancel an Event (Instructors)

Cancel a scheduled event when you're no longer able to present it.

🎓 This article is for instructors. Looking for the provider version? See Cancel or Delete an Event (Providers).

When you're no longer able to present a scheduled event, you can cancel it directly from your account. As an instructor, cancellation is the only option available — even for events without any pre-registered attendees. If an event needs to be permanently removed from the platform, your provider will need to handle that. This article walks you through how to cancel an event and what happens after you do.

⚠️ Important: Once an event is cancelled, the cancellation is recorded and visible to any attendees who pre-registered. We recommend cancelling only when you're certain you cannot present the event.

Before you begin

  • You must be logged in with an instructor account.
  • Confirm with your provider in advance if possible, especially for events that have been publicly promoted.
  • If attendees have pre-registered, be prepared to communicate the change to them.

How to cancel an event

  1. Sign in to www.ceuevents.com using your instructor account credentials.
  2. Click on the Events menu.
  3. Locate the specific event you wish to cancel, and click on it.
  4. Click on the Menu button, represented by three horizontal dots.

    Delete_Event
  5. Select the Edit option from the menu.
  6. Scroll down and click the Cancel Event button.
  7. Confirm the action when prompted.

What happens next

Once cancelled:

  • The event status changes to Cancelled.
  • A cancellation banner is displayed on the event's registration page, informing anyone who visits (including visitors arriving from external promotions) that the event has been cancelled.
  • Pre-registered attendees will see a Cancelled label next to the event on their dashboard.
  • The event record is retained under your account and your provider's account for reporting and audit purposes.

📝 Note: Cancelling an event does not automatically notify attendees by email. If you need to inform them directly about the cancellation, we recommend reaching out to them.

Need to permanently delete an event?

As an instructor, you don't have permission to delete events from the platform — only to cancel them. If an event needs to be removed entirely (for example, it was scheduled in error and has no pre-registrations), reach out to your provider and ask them to delete it on your behalf.
