Getting Started as an Instructor
Welcome to CEU Events — a quick orientation to help you educate more and manage less.
🎓 This article is for instructors.
Welcome to CEU Events! Our purpose is helping you educate more and manage less. This guide gives you a quick orientation to the platform so you can start scheduling and running successful CEU events with confidence.
Step 1: Set up your account
Once your account is activated, sign in at www.ceuevents.com and complete these one-time setup steps:
- Activate Your Instructor Account if you haven't already.
- Enable Your Instructor Profile Page so attendees can find and learn about you.
- Activate Additional Courses if you'll be presenting under multiple providers or want to expand your course library.
Step 2: Explore your courses
Click on Courses in your CEU Events account to see the courses you're approved to present. Each course detail page includes the description, learning objectives, credit value, state recognitions, and any downloadable presentation materials. See View Available Courses.
Step 3: Learn the event lifecycle
Every CEU Event has three phases. Each has its own guide:
- Prepare for Your Event — Pre-event preparation, attendee outreach, and getting your materials ready.
- During Your Event — Real-time guidance from arrival through wrap-up, including attendance recording.
- Follow Up After Your Event — Confirming attendance, sending certificate notifications, and handling late requests.
Step 4: Get familiar with the attendance tools
Capturing attendance is essential for credit reporting and certificates. Three tools work together:
- CEU Events Paperless Attendance Slide — Display at the end of your presentation so attendees can scan and self-record.
- Attendance Recording Guide — A PDF for attendees who need to self-record after the fact.
- Find the Event Code — Every event has a unique code attendees enter to confirm attendance.
Step 5: Schedule your first event
When you're ready, head to the Events menu and create a new event. See Schedule a New Event.
If you'll be presenting at a firm, showroom, or association chapter that has approved your provider, see Schedule Events at Approved Places for the streamlined workflow that eliminates duplicate invitations and back-and-forth coordination.
Specialized resources
Depending on how you present, you may find these helpful:
- Best Practices for Webinar Presenters — Tips for delivering engaging, professional webinars.
- Use Zoom Webinars with CEU Events — Step-by-step integration with Zoom for streamlined attendee management.
- Maximize Exposure with Public Events — Make your event discoverable to a wider audience.
Track your activity with Reports
Once you've presented events, the Reports menu helps you track your impact:
- Event Totals — Summary of your event activity over a date range.
- Event Totals by Course — Activity broken down by course.
- Download the Event Data — Detailed event-level data for your records.
