Manage Instructor Course Access
Grant or remove instructor access to existing courses to control who can schedule and present them.
👤 This article is for providers. Only provider accounts can manage instructor course access.
For instructors to schedule events using one of your courses, they must first be granted access to that course. This article walks you through how to grant or remove course access for instructors, with two methods available depending on your starting point — manage from the Courses menu when you're focused on a single course, or from the Instructors menu when you're focused on a single instructor.
Before you begin
- You must be logged in with a provider account that has permission to manage courses and instructors.
- The course must already exist. See Add a Course if you need to create one.
- The instructor must already be added to your account. See Add an Instructor.
How to manage course access from the Courses menu
Use this method when you're focused on a single course and want to control which instructors can access it.
- Sign in to www.ceuevents.com using your provider account credentials.
- Click on the Courses menu.
- Locate the course you want to update and click the Edit button next to the course name.
- Scroll down to the Instructors section. You'll see a list of instructors associated with your account.
- Grant or remove access:
- To grant access: Check the box next to the instructor's name.
- To remove access: Uncheck the box next to the instructor's name.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save to apply the changes.
How to manage course access from the Instructors menu
Use this method when you're focused on a single instructor and want to control which courses they can access.
- Sign in to www.ceuevents.com using your provider account credentials.
- Click on the Instructors menu.
- Locate the instructor you want to update and click the Edit button next to their name.
- Scroll down to the Courses section. You'll see a list of courses associated with your account.
- Grant or remove access:
- To grant access: Check the box next to the course name.
- To remove access: Uncheck the box next to the course name.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit to apply the changes.
💡 Tip: Both methods produce the same result — the difference is the starting point. Choose whichever fits your workflow at the moment. For example, when onboarding a new instructor across multiple courses, the Instructors menu is faster. When adding a new course to several instructors at once, the Courses menu is faster.
What happens next
Once you save (or submit) the changes:
- Instructors who were granted access will see the course in their account immediately and can begin scheduling events using it, provided their territories are also configured.
- Instructors whose access was removed will no longer see the course in their account and won't be able to schedule new events for it. However, their historical data for that course remains visible to them.
- Existing events already scheduled by an instructor are not affected by a change in course access — only future event creation is restricted.
💡 Tip: It's good practice to review instructor course access periodically to keep your roster up to date — especially after onboarding new instructors, adjusting team assignments, or retiring courses.
Troubleshooting
- An instructor isn't appearing in the Instructors list when editing a course. Confirm the instructor is added to your account and their status is Active. Pending or inactive instructors won't appear. See Add an Instructor.
- A course isn't appearing in the Courses list when editing an instructor. Confirm the course exists and is Enabled in your Courses menu. See Add a Course.
- An instructor says they still can't see a course you granted access to. Have the instructor verify the following, in order:
- Under Course Providers, confirm your provider company name appears in the list.
- Next to your company name, confirm the Activate button is no longer showing. If it is, have them click Activate to complete their connection to your account.
- Under their courses, confirm the specific course appears in their list.
- The Save or Submit button isn't responsive. Confirm you've made at least one change. If the issue persists, refresh the page and try again, or contact CEU Events support.
