Remove an Attendee from a Registered Event (Providers)

Remove an attendee from a scheduled event's attendee list before the event takes place.

👤 This article is for providers.

There are times when an attendee needs to be removed from an event they've registered for — they reached out to cancel, their plans changed, or they registered for the wrong event. As a provider, you can remove attendees from the registered list for any event scheduled under your account, as long as the event hasn't yet taken place.

💡 Tip: Attendees can also remove themselves from registered events directly — they don't have to go through you. If an attendee reaches out asking to be removed, you can either remove them using the steps below, or point them to Remove Yourself from a Registered Event so they can manage it from their own account.

💡 Tip: Instructors don't have permission to remove attendees themselves — they may ask you to handle removal requests on their behalf. The same applies if an attendee is unable to remove themselves through their own account.

📝 Note: You can only remove attendees from events that haven't yet taken place. Once an event has occurred, attendee removal is no longer available since their attendance affects credit reporting.

Before you begin
  • You must be logged in with a provider account.
  • The event must not have already taken place.
  • Confirm you have the right event and the right attendee — once removed, they'll need to re-register if they change their mind.
How to remove an attendee from a registered event
  1. Sign in to www.ceuevents.com using your provider account credentials.
  2. Click on the Events menu.
  3. Locate the event the attendee is registered for and click on it.
  4. Scroll to the Attendee list section on the event details page.
  5. Find the attendee you want to remove and click the Menu (⋯) next to their name.
  6. Click Edit from the menu options.
  7. Scroll down and click Delete.
  8. Confirm if prompted.

The attendee is now removed from the event's registered list.

What happens after you remove an attendee
  • The attendee is removed from the event's registered attendee list.
  • The event no longer appears in the attendee's own registered events list.
  • If the attendee changes their mind, they can re-register through the Event Invitation Page URL for the event.
Best practices
  • Confirm with the attendee before removing. It's a courtesy to make sure the attendee actually wants to be removed before making the change on their behalf.
  • Encourage attendees to remove themselves when they can. If you're getting frequent removal requests, point attendees to Remove Yourself from a Registered Event — they can manage it in their own account without involving you.
  • Communicate with the instructor. If you're removing attendees from an event your instructor is presenting, let them know — especially for smaller events where attendee count affects planning and catering.

Troubleshooting

  • You removed an attendee by mistake. Reach out to the attendee with the Event Invitation Page URL so they can re-register.
  • The attendee says they're still seeing the event in their list. Ask them to refresh their account or sign out and back in. If the issue persists, contact CEU Events support.
