Schedule Events at Approved Places (Instructors)
Request CEU events at locations that have approved your provider — like firms, showrooms, and association chapters hosting lunch-and-learns or training sessions. slug: schedule-events-at-approved-places-instructors
🎓 This article is for instructors.
CEU Events Places are accounts held by firms, showrooms, association chapters, and other organizations that host continuing education events at their locations. When a place has approved your provider — and you, as their instructor — you can request to hold CEU events at any of the place's locations. This article walks you through the request workflow and what to expect after submitting.
Why use approved Places
Linking an event directly to an approved Place eliminates much of the manual coordination that comes with hosting at unaffiliated venues:
- No duplicate invitations. When the event is linked to the location, the location manager has visibility into it automatically — there's no need to send a separate invitation or chase them down with updates as registrations come in.
- Shared attendee list. You, your provider, and the location can all see the registered attendees in real time. No more back-and-forth emails asking who's coming.
- Visible credit status. The location can see attendee credit status directly — eliminating the need for them to request bulk certificates from you after the event.
Before you begin
Before you can request an event at an approved place, you'll need:
- An active instructor account under a provider that's been approved by at least one Places account.
- At least one course reviewed and recognized by CEU Events that the place has approved your provider to present.
If your provider hasn't been approved by any Places yet, this option won't be available on the New Event form — you'll see Other as the only option under Event place.
📝 Note: Approval is granted at the Place level. Once your provider — and you as their instructor — have been approved by a place, you can request as many events as needed at any of that place's locations without needing additional per-event approval.
View your approved Places
Before requesting an event, it's helpful to know which Places have approved your provider — and what kind of organizations they are. The Places menu gives you a complete view.
- Sign in to www.ceuevents.com using your instructor account credentials.
- Click on the Places menu.
- Browse the list of Places that have approved your provider.
From this view, you can see:
- The company name of each approved Place
- The type of place (firm, showroom, association chapter, etc.)
- The locations each Place has set up
Use this to plan your outreach and decide where to request events.
How to request an event at an approved place
- Sign in to www.ceuevents.com using your instructor account credentials.
- Click on the Events menu and start a new event. See Schedule a New Event (Instructors) for the standard event creation workflow.
- On the New Event form, click the Event place drop-down menu.
- Select the company name of the place that has approved your provider.
- Choose a specific location from the place's available locations.
- Complete the remaining event details.
- Click Submit to send your request.
Your request is automatically sent to the manager of the location you chose for review.
💡 Tip: The Course drop-down only shows courses your provider is approved and recognized to present at the selected place. If you don't see a course you expected, the place may not have approved that specific course — even if your provider is approved for it elsewhere.
What happens next
After you submit your request:
- The location manager receives it and reviews the details.
- The manager must approve or deny the request.
- You can track the status of your request from the Events menu.
If approved, the event becomes a confirmed CEU event on the place's calendar — and you can prepare for it like any other event. If denied, you'll be notified and can reach out to the location manager to understand the reason, or submit a new request with adjusted details.
💡 Tip: Know a firm, showroom, or association chapter that regularly hosts CEU events but doesn't yet have a Places account? Share the Places signup link with them. More Places means more approved venues for your events — and a more connected CE community overall.
Best practices
- Coordinate with the location manager beforehand. A quick email or call before submitting helps you propose dates that align with the location's availability — reducing the chance of denial.
- Submit requests with reasonable lead time. Location managers need time to review and confirm. Submitting weeks (not days) in advance significantly increases your chance of approval.
- Confirm course alignment. Before requesting, check the courses available in the Course drop-down to make sure your intended course is approved at that place.
- Use Other for non-approved venues. If you're presenting somewhere that isn't a CEU Events Place (like a conference center, or unaffiliated office), select Other instead and enter the location manually. See Schedule a New Event (Instructors).
Troubleshooting
- You don't see any approved places under the Event place drop-down. Your provider hasn't been approved by any Places yet — or you don't have approval to present under that provider. Check the Places menu to confirm your current approval status, and follow up with your provider if needed.
- A course you want to present isn't in the Course drop-down. The place may not have approved your provider for that course. Coordinate with your provider or the place's manager to expand the approval if needed.
- Your request was denied. Reach out directly to the location manager to understand the reason. Common causes include scheduling conflicts or capacity limits. You can submit a new request with adjusted details.
- You don't see the option to select a specific location. Once you select a company name, the location drop-down should populate. If it doesn't, confirm the place has at least one location set up. If issues persist, contact CEU Events support.
