Upload or Update a Cover Image for Locations

How to add or replace the cover image for a Location, including the recommended image size and format for the best results.

🏢 This article is for Places.

A cover image gives each of your Locations a visual identity in CEU Events. Providers, instructors, and attendees see the cover image when browsing your Locations or considering an event request, so a clean, well-lit image makes a real difference in how your space is perceived.

Before you begin
  • You need a CEU Events Places account to upload or update a cover image. Only the Places account manager has access to Location editing tools.
  • Prepare your image at exactly 720 × 405 pixels (a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio). Images at other dimensions may appear cropped, stretched, or blurry.
  • Save the image for the web — this means exporting it as a compressed file (typically JPEG or PNG) so it loads quickly without sacrificing visible quality. Most image-editing tools have a "Save for Web" or "Export for Web" option.
How to upload or update a cover image
  1. Sign in to www.ceuevents.com with your CEU Events Places account credentials.
  2. Click Locations.
  3. Click Edit next to the Location you want to add or update the image for.
  4. Click the Upload File icon.
  5. Select the image file from your computer.
  6. Click Save.

📝 Note: Images must be 720 × 405 pixels for the best display. Uploading at this exact size prevents distortion or unexpected cropping in how the image appears across CEU Events.

Best practices
  • Use a hero shot, not a closeup. A wider photo of your space — showing the room, lighting, and overall feel — works better than a tight detail shot at the small cover-image size.
  • Show your space at its best. Clean, well-lit, uncluttered photos communicate professionalism. Avoid images with people whose permission you don't have to publish.
  • Keep visual style consistent across Locations. If you have multiple Locations, using a similar photographic style (lighting, framing, mood) makes your Places account look more cohesive.
  • Optimize the file size. Save your image for the web before uploading. A large unoptimized file slows load times without adding visible quality at 720 × 405.
  • Refresh when your space changes. If you renovate, rearrange, or rebrand your venue, update the cover image so it accurately reflects what attendees and providers will see when they arrive.

Troubleshooting

  • The image won't upload. Check that your file is in a standard web format (JPEG or PNG) and that the file size isn't unusually large. Saving the image for the web with standard compression typically resolves upload issues.
  • The image looks blurry, stretched, or cropped. This almost always means the image wasn't 720 × 405 pixels before upload. Resize it to the exact dimensions in an image editor and upload again.
  • You uploaded the wrong image and want to replace it. Follow the same steps to upload a new image — the new image replaces the existing one on save.
