Set Your Meal Preferences

Add your dietary preferences and allergies to your profile so hosts can plan catering to accommodate you at in-person events.

🧑‍🎓 This article is for Attendees.

Many CEU Events sessions — especially lunch-and-learns, breakfast or after hours presentations at firms, showrooms and design centers — include catered food. Adding your meal preferences to your profile lets hosts see your dietary needs when you register for an event, so they can plan catering with your preferences in mind. It's a small step that makes a meaningful difference in your event experience.

Why set meal preferences
  • Better events for you. Hosts can plan catering that accommodates your dietary preferences and allergies, so you're not stuck without something you can actually eat.
  • Cleaner communication. Instead of emailing every host individually before each event, your preferences are shared automatically when you register.
  • Set it once, use it everywhere. Once your preferences are on file, they're included whenever you register for a future in-person event.
  • Respects the host's planning cycle. Setting your preferences in your profile before registration gives hosts the information at the moment they need it — not after they've already placed the catering order.
Where meal preferences show up

Meal preferences apply primarily to in-person events where food is provided. They don't apply to on-demand courses. When you register for a qualifying in-person event, your meal preferences are shared with the host so they can plan catering accordingly.

Categories of preferences

Your profile has two categories where you can indicate meal preferences:

Diet — select the option that matches how you eat:

  • Vegetarian
  • Vegan
  • Pescatarian
  • Halal
  • Kosher
  • No pork
  • No beef

Allergies — flag any food allergies you have:

  • Gluten
  • Dairy
  • Nut
  • Shellfish

Select all that apply to you. If you don't have specific dietary needs, you can leave both categories empty.

How to set your meal preferences
  1. Sign in to your CEU Events account at www.ceuevents.com.
  2. Go to your Profile by clicking the initial of your first name in the top right.
  3. Select Update Profile.
  4. Scroll down and locate the Diet and Allergies sections.
  5. Select the options that apply to you.
  6. Click Update at the bottom to save your changes.

For a full walkthrough of the profile page, see Update Your Profile Information.

📝 Note: If you update your meal preferences after registering for an event, the updated information won't automatically appear on the host's attendee list for that specific event — because their attendee data is a snapshot taken at the time of your registration. To have the updated information reflected, contact the instructor or host and ask them to refresh the attendee data for that event. Your updated preferences will apply automatically to any new event registrations going forward.

Best practices
  • Set your preferences before your first event registration. This ensures hosts have your information from the very first event you attend.
  • Keep them current. If your diet changes (you've gone vegan, you've been diagnosed with an allergy), update your profile promptly so future events reflect it.
  • Select all that apply. For example, you might be Vegetarian and have a Nut allergy — select both, so the host has the complete picture.

Troubleshooting

  • You don't see the Diet or Allergies sections in your profile. Confirm you're on the Update Profile page (not just viewing your profile). If the sections still aren't visible, contact CEU Events support.
  • You updated your preferences but the host doesn't see the change for an event you already registered for. Attendee data is a snapshot taken at the time of your registration. Ask the instructor or host to refresh the attendee data for that specific event. Your update will automatically apply to any future registrations.
  • Your dietary needs aren't in the list. The categories cover common preferences and allergies. For special cases, contact the host directly to arrange accommodations.
  • You want to remove a preference you set previously. Return to the Update Profile page, deselect the option, and save. Existing registrations will need a data refresh from the host to reflect the change.
