Request Account Deletion and Data Removal

How to permanently delete your CEU Events account and all associated data — and what to do before you submit your request.

 👥 This article applies to all CEU Events users. 

You can request the permanent deletion of your CEU Events account and all associated data at any time. This article walks you through how to submit your request and, importantly, what to do before you do — because account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account and data are deleted, all account information, records, certificates, and associated data are permanently removed from our system. We cannot recover your account, regenerate past certificates, or provide support for deleted records afterward.

Before you begin

Take these steps before submitting your deletion request, while your account is still active:

  • Download any certificates you may need. Once your account is deleted, your Certificates of Completion are permanently gone and cannot be regenerated. See Retrieve Your Certificate of Completion and Filter and Export Your Certificates.
  • Save any records you need for compliance or audits. If you rely on your CEU Events account as your continuing education record, export everything you'll need before it's removed.
  • Confirm you have access to your registered email. Your request must come from the email address on your account, and you'll need to receive a confirmation email to complete the process.
How to request account deletion
  1. From the email address registered on your CEU Events account, send an email to support@ceuevents.com.
  2. Use the subject line: Request for Account Deletion and Data.
  3. Send the email. Our team will use the sending address to verify the request belongs to you.

📝 Note: Your request must be sent from the email address associated with your account. This is how we verify the request is genuinely yours and protect your account from unauthorized deletion.

What happens next
  • You'll receive a confirmation email. Before any deletion takes place, our team sends you a confirmation email asking you to reconfirm your request. This is your last chance to change your mind.
  • Reconfirm to proceed. Once you confirm, our team initiates the deletion process.
  • Allow up to 48 hours. Complete removal of your account and all associated data takes up to 48 hours from the time you confirm.

Best practices
  • Download everything you need first. Certificates and records can't be recovered after deletion. When in doubt, save it before you submit your request.
  • Consider whether deletion is what you need. If your goal is to stop receiving emails or update outdated information, you may not need to delete your account. CEU Events never sends unsolicited promotional emails, and you can update your profile information instead.
  • Use your registered email. Sending from a different address will delay your request, since we can't verify it belongs to you.
  • Watch for the confirmation email. Deletion doesn't proceed until you reconfirm — so check your inbox (and spam folder) after submitting.

Troubleshooting

  • You didn't receive the confirmation email. Check your spam or junk folder. Some corporate or institutional email systems delay or block automated messages. If it doesn't arrive within a reasonable time, contact CEU Events support.
  • You sent the request from a different email address. We can only verify and process requests sent from the email registered on the account. Resend from your registered address, or contact CEU Events support if you no longer have access to it.
  • You changed your mind after submitting. As long as you haven't reconfirmed via the confirmation email, your account won't be deleted. Simply don't reconfirm, or reply to support to cancel the request.
  • You need a certificate after your account was deleted. Unfortunately, once data is deleted it's permanently gone and cannot be regenerated. This is why downloading certificates beforehand is essential.
